Dr. Gregory Bliss
Dr. Gregory A. Bliss brings a unique blend of ministry, leadership, and educational innovation to Christos Academy. In 2014, he transitioned from missionary work into the field of education and began pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership at Liberty University.
In 2019, he and his wife, Kimi, relocated to Cary, North Carolina, with a vision to establish a private, church-based school. While the COVID-19 pandemic brought that initial project to a close, it also opened the door to reimagining what education could look like in a rapidly changing world.
Through further studies in Educational Technology, Dr. Bliss began developing a model that separates foundational learning from higher-order thinking skills. In this approach, basic comprehension is supported through technology, allowing educators to devote more time to meaningful instruction, critical thinking, and student development.
In 2025, this vision became a reality with the launch of Christos Academy, beginning as a microschool serving 12 students. Today, his passion continues to shape a model of education that is both innovative and deeply rooted in purpose.

Kimi File Bliss brings over thirty years of experience in accounting and tax preparation, along with a deep commitment to faith-based education and family support. She homeschooled her seven children, all of whom have gone on to pursue professional careers or advanced graduate education at the master’s and doctoral levels.
Her passion is to ensure that every family has access to Christian education for their children, regardless of socioeconomic background, academic standing, or special needs.
To support her work in this mission, Kimi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies, a Master of Science in Accounting, and a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in nonprofit and faith-based organizations. She is also an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service and currently works as a tax accountant at a CPA office in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Outside of her professional work, Kimi enjoys traveling to visit her children and spending time with her grandchildren.
Katairena Heath
Regional Pod Leader & Administrator
Katairena Heath serves as the Regional Pod Leader and Administrator for Christos Academy, where she plays a key role in supporting both families and learning pods. She is passionate about creating a structured, nurturing environment where students can grow academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
In her role, Katairena helps coordinate pod operations, support learning coaches, and ensure that each family feels equipped and connected within the Christos Academy community. She values strong relationships with parents and believes that education is most effective when families are actively involved in the learning process.
Katairena is currently pursuing her graduate degree in counseling, with a focus on supporting individuals, couples, and families through a relational and holistic approach. Her background in counseling continues to shape how she leads, bringing care, intentionality, and emotional awareness into the educational environment.
Her heart is to see each child recognized for their unique design and supported in reaching their full potential within a Christ-centered community.
